See if the following can help you next time.
1. Paint can't cover any defects. You have to correct all mistake before apply body paint.
2. try GX series which have better covering power. But not much choice. White, red, yellow, black, clear is good for car building.
3. You have to wet send the clear coat first prior to the final touch by rubbing the compound. Orange peels have to be removed by wet sanding paper. Try 1000, 1500, 2000...etc. Avoid sanding "thin' area such as around edges or corners.
4. Personally I prefer to apply clear coat and polishing on clear coat. This has couple advantages. First it won't hurt the body paint. Secondly, it will make the overall tone look better....rubbing compound on it won't get messy color. If you see body paint, it is a big warning sign.
5. Be careful to apply clear coat on decals. For new comers, suggest to apply clear coat prior to apply decals. (If orange peel is heavy, wet sand the body paint before applying clear coat. This can help to remove dust or any eye drops due to heavy painting.) Then polishing the clear coat to make it smooth first followed by applying decal. Then apply polishing wax on decal. This is a more safe approach.
Good Luck
