What you did there to cut the wood, is actually how you would repair a real wooden aircraft!!!
but to provide maximum strength (which i am not sure do you need to) the cut needs to be longer,
the length of the cut will have to be 7-10 times (forgot the actual number) the width of the wood
No, I'm not an aircraft mechanic, not any kind of mechanic at all.......
My strategy is.... since the stick is so small, I made a slanted cut just to increase the surface area for better fixing..... beside, two slanted surfaces are easier to fix together in such situation....
But... Wow..... the length of the cut should be 7-10 times the width !!?? My cut length is only about 3 times of the width......
But the Flying Machine is only a static display model and needs not bear any stress like a real aircraft, so I think my "short cut" should be good enough to support the weight.
