Hello Again.

This time I'm trying to build Sgt. Zatora's Scopedog.  I'm able to finish building the arms so far but now I encounter this problem:



The leg on the left is the turbo custom version by Wave.  The leg on the right is the regular version by Takara.  Is it normal for the regular version shorter than the turbo custom version?

I like to have them both the same height.  Has anyone solve this problem yet?  Suggestions and comments are most welcome.

Thank you.  I dont have the down form version so I didn't know they are shorter.  If I read this correctly...

ATM-09-STTC:  Total Height 4017mm

ATM-09-ST:  Total Height 3804mm

Hmmm... it's a shame I almost start cutting up the leg

Has anyone build both dogs yet?  What do you think about the height differences?

Have you build both the dogs?  Doesn't the height differences bother you?  Right now I'm debating whether to enhence the height or keep accurate like the reference.

Here is today's Porgress report:

Modifying the earphones for the sniper scope wire and antenna.


The Height issue:

After 30 minutes of decision, I decide to make the dog higher.  although the reference said it the downform is shorter but if you look at the picture it is too short to be in scale and asthetically unpleasant.  So I decide to make it higher without distort the overall appearance. The modified downform is still smaller than turbo custom, but as you can see it is much more in scale now.  I aslo made extra joint on the arms.  But I think next time I will go a different apporach on the arm issue.

More modification on the legs will continue.  All modification on height weill hidden from view.    I think, that's the goal.

Wave D ÀY¦P¤â is actually no good.  I will go back and cast the hands later when I buy some RTV silicone.  Right now I'm trying to build a dog collection so speed is more important.

I have 4 more wave kits and 2 more Volks 1/24 dogs.  I bought them 9 years ago I think...

Compare to your work, this is small potato   I really don't have the patience for huge modification... unless it is Zaku, German AFV or something it is not on the market.

Sometimes I like to build out of the box (OOB) too!  I think OOB can really test the skill of the modeler.

Yes I try to hide all the modifications so it will not look strange.  Yes I will also build the cockpit like I did on the Turbo Custom.  But first I have to solve all the problems with the old Takara kit.

I only have one Brutish dog so far.  It is Takara.  I will save the parts not used so when I build the Brutish dog I will still have to parts.  Right now I'm just trying to concerntrate on the Zatora dog.

Right now there is also another problem:

Does anyone have the graphic for Commando-Vorct dog?  I need it so I can place the decal on the left shoulder.  I really don't want to paint it myself

Yes I use automotive putty to fill the seam.  It's better than Tamiya or Gunze because it is stronger and it does not shirnk.  Only $1.00 USD LOL.

I also use Mori Mori for large projects.  But right now I'm out and it is very difficult to buy Mori Mori in USA.  So I use anything I can
