This is my first 1/16 figure, the largest non-anime figure I had build/paint till today.

I believe the expression created by the eyes made the soldier with a
"surprised" facial expression.

Yes, this is my feeling too; I have previously came across an article in ancient time magazine “精密模型” that mentioned a very good point on how to paint eyes: you should notice that the upper and lower part of eyeball should be covered by face skin, therefore you will not always see the upper and lower part of eyeball otherwise the facial expression will be like “有 heart 人” 師兄 said

you can also improve the helmet by adding paint chipping and color depth with shades of field grey

Corrected the eyes, now look better.   Thank you.

For the helmet, it already glued to the head, could not re-print with air brush, I will add different shades next time.

I am afraid to try doing paint chipping, as I an not confidence in making the effect look realistic.

yup, much better now! paint chipping effect can be done realistically with a couple techniques developed in recent decade (using specific product or hairspray) .... you can find many video references in                YouTube.   you will never learn if you never try. good luck!

I am sorry, I won't dare to try doing the paint clipping effect on the helmet of this figure, as it is firmly glued to the figure. Any mistakes would cause damage to the figure's finishing, and I don't want to risk this.

I would try to do this effects on another figure with a helmet or maybe a tank next time I build a model.
