Here's something I've started to work on. I thought I was going to build this kit out of box style without any modification, as I have two HGUC Sazabis. However, I just couldn't resist...The stock kit already looks pretty good by itself, so I don't plan on doing anything drastic in terms of altering its appearance, but that may change later if I see the need for it. For now, scribing some lines, minor reshaping and adding some detailing will be good enough.
As I've said earlier, the stock kit looks pretty nice. However, the surface of the kit is too clean or too plain for me. With that said, I wanted to spice it up a little bit by adding some surface detailing.
I started out by drilling the chest vents located at the left and right side. After I did that, I cut up the center piece of the chest armor to add some more vent-like detailing. And as you can see, some panel lines added.
A closer look at the upper body. The face was slightly reshaped and lines added to the head.
I saw this cool drawing which was used for advertising the Gundam War card game in HobbyJapan. In this drawing, the Sazabi has some nice surface detailing which gives me a good idea on what I want to add on to the Sazabi once I receive my new scribing tools.
Here's the shield with more vent detailing added. I cut up small pieces of plastic styrene from Evergreen which has the grooves on them, and then have them trimmed and sanded into shape in order to fit the shield cover.
Reshaped the knee with Tamiya quick type epoxy.
