我一直想製作自己的色板.  之前我用匙更, 效果好不過難收藏,  之後買過膠版, 紙版.  吾得, 無弧型面出來隻色好吾同.  昨晚淘左圓形冰箱磁石貼落來, 黑白倆隻色, 直徑3cm.  本來想淘盒圍棋落來, 不過佢最大都係1.7cm, 製色版用大粒d好睇d.  希望冰箱磁石貼可解決問題.  暫時的想法係金屬色, 黑底白底光面消光噴4粒.  其他就會每次開一隻色時噴油噴2粒, 黑底白底. (黃同紅色噴黑底有意思嗎?  哈哈).  同埋之前為左RG的色塊, 入左好多吾多程度的白, 吾同的黑.  幾隻常用高達色紅, 黃, 藍會分別用深色同灰色噴陰影, 總之想整番個色版.  不過吾知呢個希望工程幾時完.

另一方面, 開學了, 生活又改變了

小弟的寶貝仔不經不覺已經小一, 寶貝女亦都K1.  九月開學之後生活又有一些改變.

因為要送小朋友去坐保姆車, 我每日差不多早左成個鐘回公司.  就係咁, 我朝早又有一個鐘, 午餐又有45分鐘(15分鐘食完飯盒)去砌模型.  老實講, 其實我都吾好意思, 不過吾搞, 夜晚做吾到咁多野, 試左幾日, 老細又無出聲, 吾理咁多啦.   呢幾日帶左打磨工具, 好多時都係係屋企剪完, 返公司打磨.  今朝就直情返公司痴水貼.

我都覺得好奇怪, 以前砌模型都係砌一年左右就會停一停.  不過今次仲未想停.  希望繼續自己的作品.

我都試過早上趁同事未返素組模型，打磨依啲工序就比較少，午飯時間就無師兄食得咁啦！

每日差不多早左成個鐘回公司.
I don't like sit in front my desk unless working hours.
therefore, i would find a nice place to have breakfast, read book, daydreaming...

好似我咁懶的人，都吾會將黃色紅色直噴上深底色。所以真係噴呢啲色板真係無意思。唯一就係睇下佢遮蓋力

原來我一共有97隻色！

crazy... today I spray around 22 colours but 8 of them need to redo as it's scratched by the magnet!

because there has two brands.

i lazy to mix colors, like to open and use,
save time to mix the suitable color,
if keep mixing would difficult mix the same color which used before,
pre-mixed colors suitable to apply acrylic's technique,

but this is acrylic paints way,
if use oil paints (not model oil paints, is the oil paints for painting).
could only need red, yellow, blue, white, black, gold, silver, brown, green, ... (less than 10 colors).
then, keep mixing the colors to form the rest of colors.

Where you bought them? If each bottle cost HK$20, the total cost you paid was 9000. Right?
Cheaper to buy from somewhere? Pls let me know if you have good source other than the usual local shops. Thanks!

and no discount,
but not bought at once.


i remember price of AV is $18 each at that moment (4~5 years before);
however, price of GW is much expensive, from 2X ~ 5X per one.





in my opinion, those are same cost,
difference is spent on model kits, paints, books, or other things.

I saw in YM studio the Citadel paint which are brilliant but expensive. Do you have them? Are they good to paint? Worth the money?

in my experience,
Citadel paints ( equal to GW paints ) is the worst, from price, volumn (ml), QC, ...
also it doesn't match my paint style.

for now, i prefer AK 3rd gen.
QC is better than AV.

however, paints need to try it yourself.
i could sharing my experience with you,
but those are based on my paint style,
you may feel different when use it.

my suggestion is buy same color (e.g. bright red) from all available brands,
then apply them on same conditions, and see which one suit you most.





btw, YM studio is a noisy cards shop more than model shop now,
and the price of stuffs (from paints to tools) in there is same or even more expensive than the shops on street level.
so i haven't visit YM for long time.

It seems no one is selling AK 3G paint in Hong Kong. Where did you get them?
Before the Covid19, when I visited Guangzhou I know there was a shop stocked AK real color and 3G paint. They sell also in Taobao.

I don't like to buy a lot of paints because I never finish them. They occupy spaces and cost money.
I started with the Gunze MR COLOR paint when I was young. And also some Gunze aqueous color but they couldn't mixed well with water and the pigment are coarse, so gave up.
Then some enamel for pin-washes.
I didn't use acrylic paint until I started the hair spray chipping method for AFV several years ago. It gave more realistic chipping effect than other paint types.
I started with the Holbein acrylic gouache color set which was introduced by a Japanese modeller 高石誠.
But gouache was too weak against water, so I changed to AV and AK paint sets for tanks.
Now I am using some Tamiya acrylic which feels like a bit different from AV and AK.
Not easy to handle. Maybe I need to get more experience and control about how much hair spray and paint.

YM already has full range of AK 3rd gen.
i only bought the pastel set.







i like AK real series too, but it really strong odour and toxic.





yes, i mainly use around 50 nos. of colors to paint model.
barely use the rest of colors unless paint specific color scheme.
and only re-stock color of white, black, silver, black wash, thinner, etc.
but compare with model kits, cost and space is not a problem for paints.





first, i used tamiya's enamel series and spray cans to paint models,
then changed to gaia series,
when i start painting miniatures 3-4 yrs before, i changed to acrylic series at the same time.











yes, combining acrylic paints with chipping medium, crackle medium, liquid masking ( i.e. hair spray), pigments, texture paints, effect paints, etc.
could create the most natural, realistic weathering effect and diorama.



haven't use tamiya 's acrylic series.
someone says it is specific product for model painting,
hence, different from actual acrylic paints from AV, AK.

Thank you for your sharing. I know it is fun to paint miniature with acrylic but I am not familiar with it.
I bought a bust (around 1/10 scale) some years ago but never finished because I felt my skill was too bad. Never feel like it looks real.
Better look for any course to learn.

i also want to try/train bust.
but not easy to find interested bust (i prefer sci-fi female character) in reasonable price in HK.
if buy through internet, the shipping fee already enough to buy a cheap gunpla...






oil paints may more suitable to paint bust, its blending technique could form soft color variation.
then, wet blending technique in acrylic paints could get similar result.




btw, i prefer studying from books, then practice on bust.
you could find lots of free tutorials in youtube, that explain techniques clearly, steps by steps.
this should be more efficiency than paying money to take a 3~6hrs course which only demonstrate one bust.
