Little progress on the test shot kit.

try to do rough surface (rough metal cast surface) on the eyes shield/sensor and some armor ...not sure if this will turn out good...

anyway, the aurora film (彩光片 and 彩光貼 ) will be included in the kit!!

hey man long time no chat! the gm's head's looking great! sleek and well-proportioned, almost like a biker's helmet... not too sure about the rough cast surface though, it'd be good for wash-weathering and applying deep colours i guess, but maybe not so much for lighter colours, and could be a bit of a pain to sand for those who'd actually prefer it smooth... anyway just my 2 cents :P

actually the rough surface was the result of putty. the kit comes with smooth surface as usual. I guess you are the first one to notice the element of the biker helmet. that's part of the idea. the mod on the design is to keep this kit in grey area. even if bandai jump on us, we can provide the source of design concept.

hope i will have more update in a week or two.

not bad, just haven't had the time to touch modeling for a while! a little hectic as usual :P
oic.. thought that's the rough surface casting effect u're showing, yeh i think it's really good about the design, always like the "human touch" with elements from things we can relate to, and it's very much original! surely bandai can't say much. can't wait to see the rest of the body :P

所有要上黑色地方都會做鐵注感....不過要睇overall. 可能唔夾...又磨番滑....

looking forward to this kit... am absorbing as much knowledge on handling cast kit from this site as much as possible, i think i will try my hands on cast kit once this is out! the metal cast effect is very fine and doesnt loose the sense of scale for a 18m GM, am guessing you are using fine spraying of putty?

oh...your fears is over. this is plastic conversion kit wor..haha. I see many people do rough iron cast surface but they often go out of scale. you are rigth fine spray putty will achieve the ready but it is not very obvious. might not worth the time to this...I am re-thinking about it.
